Most actors would sell their souls for a high-profile guest spot on HBO's Sex and the City. But Mark Feuerstein seems to regret his season two appearance in an episode entitled "They Shoot Single People, Don't They" as Josh, an ophthalmologist with eyes for Cynthia Nixon's Miranda. "I played a character who was so bad in bed that she had to fake her orgasms," he sighs. "It wasn't great for my social life, it wasn't great for my friends, and it was horrible for my parents to watch. The final moments [in our bed scene] were awkward and icky."
Nixon isn't Hollywood's only A-list leading lady to kiss and diss Feuerstein on-screen. This May, he wrapped filming on Two Weeks Notice in New York and, well, we'll just let him tell it... "It's everything you'd want to see in a romantic comedy with Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant," the 31-year-old says. "I play her boyfriend, who gets dumped for Hugh Grant in the end but I live to the end of the picture, which is more than I can say for the other film I did with her, Practical Magic. So, it's a step up for me."
Poor guy. Somehow, we doubt Feuerstein will have better luck with Dawson's Creek's Katie Holmes in her new suspense thriller, Abandon (opening Oct. 18). At least he's safely ensconced as the leading man on Good Morning, Miami (debuting at 9:30 pm/ET on NBC). But while he's got a pretty girl on his arm As The World Turns alumna Ashley Williams the real reason to tune in is Suzanne Pleshette, who plays his saucy grandma.
"Suzanne is such a pistol," he grins. "You never know what's going to come out of her mouth. I've certainly expanded my vocabulary, though I can't use any of those words in front of my parents! She's a doll and she knows how it's done, so we have a great teacher with whom to study in the school of sitcoms."
